I am Licki. I am female. I live in the Southeast USA. I draw anthros and anime-styled pictures, and although I'd like to be able to sell doujinshi or do comics/illustration stuff for a living, I think I'm going to be a bio nerd instead for college. ^__^; whee?

Hey guys~ haven't updated this place in a while. I've been drawing, I've been doing work, but I think I might have lost interest in this site a tiny bit

Sheezy's just turned... I don't know. weird. it's bitter, in a sense. So, thusly, I'm not sure if I'm leaving or not. at least, it might be a while until I bother uploading again. I mean... I'm doing the whole senior year thing, and everything that entails... and I'm busy. Not sure if this site is worth it any more. I'm gonna sit around and see how society turns with all the droppage of people and everybody getting all self-righteous or just uncaring. I'll make a decision then.

But! Until then, I'm working on doing that whole "personal website" thing. I don't upload/scan enough to constitute for that other fad (art livejournals and the like) so I'm thinking that an art site should be the way to go. Even though it will be quite shoddy by today's standards, as I don't know the "new" stuff everybody's all buddy with, and only know basic HTML and some Java. So! Nobody can (should) expect much, but hey... I'm going to try. I'll post up a link to it as soon as it's decent enough to be looked at or actually has some content on it, heh.

but then I also hate the corresponding rants that are like "I'm fucking allowed to like it and all you guys are immature because you're too obsessed with all this jap crap!" and then there are the people who are like "let it get mainstream! I mean, come on! once this thing gets more mainstream, then we can have the uber delicious anime that they only release in Japan!"
um... like... what? what anime are we being deprived of? The US has Hikaru no Go and Naruto (manga if not anime) and Full Metal Alchemist and regular book publishers (like DelRey, etc) have gotten into the manga deal and making money off of it, and I've got 4 DVDs on my desk (which, btw, all of which I got the school to buy for the library with the state's money). 3 out of four are released by Columbia Tristar. that's not Viz or Manga Video or Tokyopop or Bandai or anything, none of the major "anime" companies releasing here. How much more mainstream is it going to get?
Scanlating and fansubbing is dead. at least for North America, and most other english speaking countries. When's the last time that any of the big scanlaters online actually uploaded? and uploaded something decent? it's a race against the licensors to get something out that the fans online will swallow up, before they have to give it up and turn to something else. Because some of the things that people thought would never be licensed (I mean, come on.... yaoi and (practically) hentai manga... and manga with subject matters as controversial as Angel Sanctuary) ...they've been licensed!

okay... I'm going to stop now. o___o;;; ranting is bad. and I'm hungry.
